Chris Ridley of the Alzheimer’s Association will present four events Friday and Saturday, June 6-7, at the Regency at Hualalai, 75-181 Hualalai Road, Kailua-Kona.

Chris Ridley of the Alzheimer’s Association will present four events Friday and Saturday, June 6-7, at the Regency at Hualalai, 75-181 Hualalai Road, Kailua-Kona.

At 6 p.m. Friday, the focus will be “What Is Dementia?” This seminar will include the latest information about the warning signs of dementia. Information about dementia, stages, symptoms and treatments will be provided.

The first of the three Saturday programs will start at 9 a.m., with Ridley discussing “Legal Affairs and Dementia.”

Learn about dementia and potential legal needs, legal capacity, advance health care directives, financial planning and organizing legal financial affairs.

At 11 a.m., watch the movie “A Song For Martin.”

Sven Wollter and Viveka Seldahl — married in real life — play married couple Martin and Barbara in this 2011 Swedish movie with English subtitles.

Martin is a conductor and composer; Barbara, a violinist.

They meet and marry in middle-age, but soon after find out Martin has Alzheimer’s disease.

At 1 p.m., Ridley will present “Challenging Behaviors in Dementia,” which includes information about why behaviors occur and possible interventions.

All events are free to the public, but will have limited seating.
